A view not often seen, especially with the seals laying about.

[Jun. 27th, 2009 06:59:56 PM]

It was dusk, and this was a hand-held (no IS) snapshot - yes, I said it - a snapshot, but I liked the light play on the water from the fishing boat's lights and the seals snoozing away in the foreground.
The post-processing on this was basically only convert from raw, levels adjustment and resize. The composition was done in camera.

[Jun. 29th, 2009 12:30:26 PM]

Had to grin at a comment that the reflection is distracting - THAT was what made the shot for me. Oh well, I guess these old eyes don't see the same as others, and happy that they don't.

WooHoo! Third worst in my 270+ entries.

nice light and reflection, but it doesn't really draw me in enough

can't believe there hasn't been more sea lions on a pier shots. Don't people visit pier 39 anymore! I was so sure that this had been done.

Nice shot--I like the reflection in the water.

For me, there isn't too much that hasn't been seen on DPC: water, skyline, boat, night shot, etc. It's not a bad image, and I like seeing the seals in the lower left, but for me, not all that unique.

I like the reflection on the water but this photo is very dark and seems more like a quick snapshot.

imho this is an ok evening shot but not really a never seen on dpc and totally unique image that has any wow factor. The suns reflection is very nice mind you.

The light on the water overpowers the rest of the image to me. Some processing work would take care of that, I think, and let the other parts of the image be more apparent. (not voting)

The composition could be a bit better. Some additional processing could have added some much-needed "pop" to the image.

It's an OK image, but it doesn't really appeal to me that much. Plus, there's plenty of boat on the water images around DPC land.

The composition is fine, and you got some beautiful light, but i dont think that this meets the challenge
