| actually I had this on the tripod and I was finishing the setup when it started. I pressed the shutter button and quickly turned the camera to the area needed to get the shot. |

I assume the lightning is shorting between clouds.
Looking at the smoothness of the sea and the motion blur I'm guessing this was a shot in the dark handheld on bulb waiting for the strike.
Nice work, as you say take the kit with you lol |
