I cerainly like it better than the original version but I do wonder if it still looks a bit artificial

Yes, I do like this one better with the ground cropped a bit, but then I am a sky person :-) I love all the layers of different things, the two grasses, water, buildings and that great sky!

The sky is still a bit red but it may have been that way (or perhaps a result of the filters?) but I do like the recrop to change the composition. Do you like it better?

The sky is beautiful. You did some nice editing work! Crop and colors are looking so much better in this one.

i feel like the denizens of hell are going to emerge from those clouds and start attacking us poor puny humans .. !! .. its a much better crop than the other one and i prefer the colours of this process .. :)

I just got a set of three soft graduated ND filters as well and will be experimenting with them soon. I love what it did to the sky here.
