charlie is our budgerigar .. he's quite young has been very timid ..
before today whenever i got him out'v the cage he was very quick to get back in ..
today i cleaned out his cage and re-organised his perches etc and also spent a bit of time with him on my finger with some grass seeds from the garden ..
anyway its like he's had a personality transformation .. after i cleaned his cage etc he started coming and going from his cage .. flying up onto the desk and around the room and when everyone came home and we had dinner he got out'v his cage and pecked at our food which was also a first ..
DONT EVER GIVE YOUR BIRDS AVOCADO OR CHOCOLATE .. IT CAN KILL THEM ..
anyway this photograph was before everyone came home .. charlie got out'v his cage when katee came into the room, sat on the opening to his cage and started flapping his wings ..
altho i allow them some interaction i dont trust katee for a minute with the bird .. the bird has no fear of katee and pecks her on the nose but it would only take one swipe of katee's foot and the bird would be no more ..
the intensity of katee's gaze is cause for concern too .. !!!
just for something different i did a filter/distort/spherize action on the pic and warped it out to form a circle .. i'd tried a fisheye at the camera shop the other day but thought that i could get the effect in photoshop rather than paying over $1000 .. i really loved the lens tho .. maybe one day .. !!
It looks like Charlie is bowing to his audience. I wouldn't trust that intent attention either. One of our dogs showed that sort of interest in our rabbit - guess how that ended.
love the circle and the ribbing of the cage. you have created a sense of no perspective. again that proc is intense. pre-visualized perfectly ... as usual!
You know this could almost be the next chapter in Little Red Riding hood.... you know oh grandma what a long nose you have... all the better for swallowing birds with lol
I love the fisheye effect here. I think the image itself conveys a pretty strong idea of the situation but it's also great to have the story alongside :)
Great story line Roz. I hope the two of them can become friends. The warping action looks pretty cool in this image. Thanks for showing us Charlie from this side :).
