Fire truck at a scrap yard. I was there, and wanted to do something with the clouds for a photo. This seemed to be about the only thing available to make a shot.
Interestingly, I was there taking the hose reels off the truck for a friend of mine who flies an airplane to fight fires. He needs them for service trailers for their aircraft. The parts will still be fighting fires. That's my idea of sensible recycling.
15mm fisheye, on cam flash, to make the front of the truck pop in the thumb. slight brightness and levels adj, then noise.

Great story! Love the clouds. They are very dramatic and go well with the truck.

Looks like the old firetruck is waiting for something to happen. Almost like it is crying with the windshield hanging half out on the right.

At first I thougt the clouds were from a fire. The poor old fire truck doesn't look ready to be scrapped.

This shot looks almost surreal.. The clouds look like they're representing a truck afterlife..

You've created a nice balance between the vivid colours in the sky and the vivid colours of the fire engine. My only suggestion might be to somehow tone down the power of the on-board flash so that you don't get that harsh reflection (I tend to carry a white piece of cloth or paper with me for use as a spur of the moment diffuser :))

I agree with Deb, it looks as if it's still in service but has been in some kind of accident.
Love the colours, it's almost as if the orange sky represents fire and as such the whole image makes sense, good work.

The way you've presented it here, it doesn't look forgotten - looks like it's on it's way to the next call - you've given it life! (Minus the missing windscreen, of course.)

The color on those clouds is pretty amazing. Too bad it's from a fire.
