 This is part of a "garden" that I pass most days on my way to work(depending upon the route I take), I had envisioned more for this image in my head but I came up a little disappointed.... perhaps I'm being a little hyper-critcal... anyway the garden is wreathed in barbed wire, and yet they grow these beautiful roses, which attrated me to it. I assume this precaution is to prevent trespass or theft but if anyone has spent any time in Japan you will know that petty theft just doesn't happen here. Quite seriously I can leave my wallet in the basket of my bike, return in half and hour and still find it there whole!!!

I really don't know much about Japan, but from your story, I love knowing the integrity of its people is so high. Side story: I left my wallet on the bumper of someone's car who did not know it was there - 13 miles from my home. I fretted for the next three hours looking for it around the area and on the roads, only to arrive home to find someone had found it on the road and placed it in my mailbox. No message, just there and intact. There are still some descent people in this world.

One does wonder why a garden would have barbed wire - rose thorns are quite naturally effective! A whirlwind/vortex kind of thing going on here which really does support the words you've added.

WOW .. this is amazing .. i love so much those deep rich tones and your processing ..
and OMG .. how amazing that you dont have petty theft .. just incredible .. i'm shaking my head .. WHY ??!!
in most parts of the world locking up your home, being aware of pickpockets and bagsnatchers is like second nature .. ppl steal from shops with guns or knives or force drivers out of your car to steal it .. the list goes on .. i wonder what it is about japan that ppl dont do it .. you say petty theft .. what about more serious crimes .. ??
& yes .. YAY for the side challenges .. lol . !!

Lovely image Fiona, and how true.... It's amazing that there is no petty theft.....leave your wallet in the basket of your bike in some places around Sydney and you'd come back to find no wallet and possibly no bike.
