This little old adobe church is about a mile away from where I took the previous image.
Hopefully today my ND8 filter is waiting for me at the post office. I'm already using two ND8s, an ND4 and a circular polarizer along with the Hoya R72 IR filter, but the silly old DSC-F707 is so sensitve in the night shooting mode and it is so bright here in New Mexico that I still get washed out bits.

Here is a non-IR version I took at the same time, taken closer in and in portrait orientation. This version shows how wonderfully detailed the clouds really were on that day!

Yeh! This is fantastic Colleen. Love the sepia tones and the white trees.

Love the stormy sky and the simplicity of the church. I'm not a huge fan of IR'd white trees - would like to see this "normal" if you go back and reshoot sometime.

This is a winner. The "washed out bits" strengthen the power of the dark cloud over the church, and all the lines seem to meet at the door to the church. It's working, don't fix it : )

A really interesting image here. The IR look is great for this. The tree on the left looks brilliant, and sitting on the third line draws attention. In some ways it overshaddows the church in this, by ints placement int he shot and thegreat way it has come up.

Church is nice, trees are nice, but the light in combination with the sky is definitely the final touch!
