Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Miniature II (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Date: May 11, 2009
Shutter: 1/30 sec
Date Uploaded: May 17, 2009

More of a "compressed city" than a "miniature city". A flatbed truck, on the freeway, hauling compressed pieces of metal and plastic. I was on a road parallel to the freeway and took the photo while going about 60 mph.

Thanks for the comments, fav, and PH yellow. All very generous, considering the photo's tenuous link to the challenge description.

When I previewed this I felt what posthumous did. {Maybe a nightmare version of the front runners of a bicylce race coming on).

I'm sure I am not the first to say I can't see a city here. Interesting textures and artistic blur, but I'm not sure. I'm really trying to be open minded, in fact a think I'm feeling a breeze on my medulla oblangata after this.

This is stunning, whatever the hell it is.

Okay, I gave ribbons to three photos that I felt met the challenge in an interesting way, but I can't just ignore this shot, so I'm giving two yellows.

Interesting photo, I'm sure it would get a bashing in this challenge. Would have loved to seen in it a Free Study.

There is something about this that makes me keep coming back - the kinetic feel, the layers of complex textures. I wonder what is behind, but at the same time don't care, because I can see what I want.

As an abstract suggestive of a large group African dance, it could work pretty well, but the image doesn't convey "miniature" very clearly.

As miniature, Im not sure this works. But as an abstract, I think this shot in phenominal. I wont leave a vote because it doesnt meet the challenge IMO, but this is in my favourites because I really like it.

This is an interesting abstract. It looks to me like a lot of Native Americans (Indians) on horses galloping towards me. The white parts on top are their feathered headdresses. It's got a lot of motion to it. But I don't get a "miniature city" from it nor do I see how it meets the challenge.

What an interesting shot - I'm sure you'll get hammered for what people think is a DNMC but I really like the image.
