I've always wondered how a simple black and white of three pecans would do in challenge. I guess now I'll find out.

I kinda like how that one pecan is darker than the other two. To me it gives off a nice contrast.

Great detail, composition and lighting....Like the shadows and the use of negative space very much. The focus on the front of the lowest nut appears soft to me but other than that, very fine work.

Super tones and wonderful focus. Composition is effective, too. 8

I think this would have been even better by leaving the nuts brown, with the pure white background. more of a duotone that would add a lot of character to the image. This is still a terrific shot - I like the composition; and I would be very interested in seeing the shot that was not desaturated.

I only see 1-1/2 :) (just my attempt at humor)

This is one of my favorites. Nice rich black and all the detail clear and clean. The one on the right I want to just push it over a bit away from the crop and lighten up the shade on the right side to match the rest of the drop out white background. Those would be my only suggestions to make this a 10 Very nice work! 9

Well executed, just a tad soft focus on the pecan in the foreground. Those things are delicious = )

Very pretty light, tones and focus. I do question the tight crop on the right side? 7 from me. Good luck.

Maybe it's because I grew up in an area full of pecan trees, but I really like this shot. :-) If I were going to shoot three pecan halves, I would want it to turn out just like this. Nice job!

Excellent macro! Nice contrast and very sharp details. Lighting is bright but not too harsh and allows details to come through. Also very good use of negative space. My only gripe is the right side of the frame which I think could use more cushion space. 9

A little nit-picky, but I wish you had left a bit of space on the right side of the nuts. But I like the use of B&W.
