The title sounds so much more romantic than Three Purple Tulips. I am very excited, as this is my first entry with the new Canon T1i. Foster Park in Ft. Wayne is very beautiful. This was taken just after a couple of days of rain.

David,
First I like the composition and the colors, very nice and the vertical is very interesting. I also don't know that much french but if it does say "THREE purple tulips" then I would have to agree that the Depth of field should be including the other two flowers. Yet I also like the emphasizing of the middle one here with a different name, hope that doesn't come across too picky!
Just my thoughts.

Interesting choice of crop.

The colors and water droplets are nice. It might be worthwhile experimenting with different positions to separate the flowers more and maybe increase depth of field a little.

A solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. A perfect demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus. A top ten image and a very strong contender for a ribbon. Well done.
