Went to the zoo last Thursday. Shot 8 gig of pics, about 500 total. Not bad for an hour and 3/4. This was my first opportunity to shoot some of the big cats in their new digs that was opened last year. My alternate was a full spread peacock what I liked but I thought the lighting in this a bit more interesting.

Post: Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0. Layer adjustemtns for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturaton. I think 2 or three crops. The bright spot under the lioness's chin, her paw, apparently, really bothered me so I burnt it a bit and then did some selective sharpening to keep the detail while toning it down. Also cloned out some blue haloing in the same area. Adjust sharpness. Resize. USM.

a beautiful moment. The only thing that bothers me is the slight green tinge - were they under a tree?

Beautiful. Although the face of the female lion says, "I really don't like that." Still a tender shot to capture - 10.

Nice capture. Good job with harsh lighting conditions.

The slight green cast to this image keeps it from being a complete technical success - the green intrudes on the male lion and give it a grainy appearance even thought it's not grain. Additionally, the DOF control is a little lacking - it would have been better choice to use a wider angle to capture the entire action and sharpen up the foreground. An artistic success in that it conveys the impression the author wanted to express.
