 From the farne isles in Northumberland, UK
one of the funniest and cutest birds on the planet.

raw processed in PS cs4, used nik filters to remove noise from the background, sharpen the foreground then to adjust the colour of the whole image, before cropping and resizing, cloned a small highlight blob but think that was cropped out.

A bit overexposed especially his chest. You might have been able to pull out the detail there with a levels adjustment however. (if you shot RAW that is)

A solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image but of less than universal appeal because of it's slightly flat appearance due to a little less saturation than was needed. A good entry into the challenge.

The lighting should be richer, and contrast should be boosted. It would make a world of difference in this photo.
