 Well I admit I no longer have bug nightmares, but when I was a kid I remember being terrified that there were spiders in my bed. I actually like bugs now, mainly through photographing them keenly :)

This guy (I think) is a millipede. I was going to skip this challenge, but I've had a bit of a break since DPC Olympics finished, and I missed my D80! I decided that I would hunt outside for a bug or spider, and only shoot if I found one. This guys was conveniently climbing down the wall of my courtyard. Don't you love Australia!

Editing Steps:

-Raw conversion - exposure and white balance
- Hue/saturation adjustment masked to millipede - increase saturation and lightness of red channel
- Curves
- Curves with millipede masked to deepen shadows across the image except for millipede body
- Auto smart fix
- Auto contrast
- Vignette added
- Resized to 1420
- USM
- Resized to 710
- Increased canvas by 10 to add border
- SFW

It's so metallic and mechanical looking, reminds me of Cronos by Guillermo Del Toro.
