LOL! This is what my college-age daughter wrote when I sent her this image of the pushpins I stole ... err... borrowed from her room while she was gone:

" *GASP*!! YOU MADE PURPLE!! NOT good!
They drilled that into us when we were kids... (girls are pink and boys are blue, don't make purple. Don't go into each others' rooms)
The picture is good tho... despite its promiscuity =) "

Darn! I missed the composition. I knew something just wasn't right when I submitted. But, I couldn't figure it out.

The pushpins were stuck through a piece of typing paper and a box, so I only had the area of the paper for the shot. If I had it to do over again, I'd have used larger white paper to give myself more options.

THANKS for the votes and the honest critiques. I really like knowing what's not working in my shots.

Yet still... I'm quite happy with the generous score you've given to me.

IMO - you should have filled the whole frame with the hearts. Too much white space towards the bottom of the pic.

really liked this in the thumbnail, but too much white space on bottom, feels uncomfortably high in its space, great idea, well-executed otherwise

A clever idea and a technical success, it's less than successful in an artistic sense. DOF control is excellant and the lighting isn't over done creating blooms. The subject is less than interesting. Perhaps a different background with a slightly different angle would have helped. A little more thought and better framing would have brought the rating higher.
