This was taken at the Hogal Zoo in Salt lake city. One of the workers was walking around with this bird in his hand so I decided to stop and take a picture.

Fair enough. I was noticing the halos around his feathers against the bright (but very nice!) background -- also the textures in his face struck me as a bit rough. Great shot though. I do love owls. Too bad about his eye.

this made me laugh .. only because it looked like he was winking at me ..
then of course i realised he only has one eye .. but he looks healthy and well fed, so hopefully his life is good ..
its a great shot .. :)

I like your image, cute capture with the wink. I do wonder how it would look as a vertical image as well. For me, it would keep my attention focused on your subject.

An excellant animal portrait that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail. Well done.
