This is a revisit of one of my first DPC submissions, "Built In 1906" for the first Trains and Railroads challenge.

I'm interested to see if over the last 2 and 1/2 years I've progressed in the eyes of DPCers or not. I see this challenge as a great opportunity to get unique feedback on my progress on this site.

Focal length 48mm

Opened Raw file in CS4
Made adjustments (increased temp, sat levels, etc)
Added contrast level
Reduced size & added border
USM
Save for web

I prefer the lighter exposure and the detail it shows. Not sure about cutting off the top iron work.

IMO it would have been better if you would have stood in the middle of the tracks. JMO

A little better lighting control reducing the highlights would have been a plus. Not an overly interesting image from an artistic sense, it does provide a lot of detail and color differences. A little more thought into the composition would have made for a better image. A good entry into the challenge, it falls just short of being truly effective. Perhaps a little change in viewing angle would have helped.

nice photograph..nice tones and contrast. The picutre would have been more real if the sharpness and the saturation was a tad less...

The first thing that pops to me about this pic is the colors, the greens and browns work really well together. I like how far into the distance we can see.
