Thanks Lutchenko, I think you right, not many British voter on here who would know about this type of engine or style of rail painting.
Funny thing is I have a shot from the same weekend very near identical to the 2nd placed one but did not want to have just another steam loco. |

Hey Mark This is still my favourite in the challenge and one of only 5 images I have set as a favourite since I have been a member.
I think it would have done better in voting if people were more familiar with traditional English rail paintings. |

| From a technical standpoint, this is a terrific effort - crisp, sharp with everything detail well controlled and captured. From an artistic standpoint, it's rather bland and uninviting to the viewer. Sometimes an image, even one as technically competant as this one is, is just an image. A worthy entry into the challenge and directly related to the challenge subject. A good effort falling short in the artistic sense. |

Classic rail shot. Nice one.
I keep returning to this shot, I really like that classic rail oil painting feel it has. This is now added to my favourites. |

| The smoke looks great, it's such a tiny little train but it's framed nicely because of it. |
