I don't think this has any wow factor. There's no pop with the DOF, there's no pop with the saturation, there's not really anything moving about the subject (pun not intended :P and although it's not a bad pic it just doesn't speak to me.

Not sure on this. The boxcars have some nice detail, but it still seems to not quite have much visual impact to me.

A good image that suffers from a flawed perspective. The author had the right idea, but the angle and the offset are not overly attractive to the viewer and does not invite closer inspection. A closer look at a different angle using bokeh and a little better lighting control might have been a better choice. At a minimum, the right side of this image should have been cropped out to reduce outside influences and attract the viewer to the subjet matter more effectively. A good entry into the challenge.

This is so "last" as far as a stop, the power pole no longer has lines! An average shot as far as DPC goes, but nice and clean, pretty good exposure. The part I find interesting is the lack of power lines. One wonders if the area is slated to just go back to nature, or there are other plans for it.

I'm thinking that B&W with sepia tone would have worked better and fixing the tilt. JMO
