This is my first attempt using the Extract filter. I'm very pleased with the results. The seagull was taken on the coast last weekend, and the sky was today's here at home. See pics below

I reversed the sky to better match the direction of the sunlight.

I don't know why putting my pics on the internet dulls them. They loose both sharpness (even though I sharpen them) and definition. I wish you could see them on my monitor.

Excellent composite and the light does indeed match up quite nicely!

For sharpening for web display (and not for printing or keeping, but just to post on the web), try the following if you haven't already: Do all your processing up to the point of sharpening. Resize the photograph to 72 dpi and twice the longest size in pixels (ie 1440 for a pic that will be 720 pixels on the web). Use "Sharpen" (not smart sharpen or unsharp mask, but just simple "sharpen") once or twice (to taste - it will look slightly oversharpened when properly cooked), then resize and submit. See if that makes any difference.

Nicely done! The seagull now seems to carry a message. I like the reflected light, too.

Nice composite image. Brilliantly combined to make to average image an exceptional one.

This is a really good edit to get the 2 images into one. It is unfortunate that images don't always look the same here as they do on our monitors. Size has a lot to do with it. I always edit my image then save for web. I'm not sure if there is any difference if you size the image a lot smaller then edit.

The color seem pretty intense on my monitor, really like the sky color over all contrast is good also.
