Challenge: Abstract Motion (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Location: edmonton
Date: Mar 24, 2009
Aperture: f/5
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/60
Galleries: Abstract
Date Uploaded: Mar 24, 2009

photo taken by shaking camera side to side.
I edited it with apple aperture - increasing the exposure by 0.2, increasing the contrast by 0.05.
This orchid opened a week ago and i enjoy the vibrant color on the lip of the flower. To me this photo looks like a painting someone smeared with a palate knife.

very nice. I would have enjoyed not being given information about the subject as that might have added to the abstract part of the image. But I really like this. Motion, not too sure but somehow it still works for me.

I'm sorry, this seems more blurry than abstract, IMO...

I would have loved it more if it had been less recognizable.

Definition of abstract is: art in which the subject is represented by shapes and patterns rather than by a realistic likeness.

Nice effect. Would have liked to see the color boosted a little for impact.

nice colours, like the plain background

In abstracts, I prefer the piece to be left untitled, as they work better when the viewer is left to create their own story and vision.

While I can see camera movement here, the scene is still a rather static scene, so doesn't really work for me in the 'motion' sense either.
