Very nice. I like the BW and the fisheye look. I don't know how you could have avoided it--maybe a crop--but the foreground emphasis on the building lower left makes it a main subject, yet it's the least interesting part of the composition. (Not voting, just commenting.)

Gorgeous. I'll try not to be too biased, as I love Chicago. :)
03/16/2009 11:37:36 AM
great perspective. don't know if this is a crop or if it is wide as possible, but the building on the left being just a bit chopped off bothers me.
03/16/2009 04:29:49 AM

03/13/2009 10:46:43 PM
I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... out of (currently) 1124 images, I gave 31 of them a 9. Your image was one of those 31.

There are a couple of high vantage point cityscapes in this challenge, but this is one of the best. Nice perspective, and the monochrome treatment works well. I would also like to see a nighttime long exposure from this viewpoint!

Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge.

My old apartment is in this photo!
03/11/2009 05:00:34 PM
I just commented on another image which was a very colourful image of NY, composed in much the same way. Your shot, with its black and white finely juxtaposes that shot. Your B&W conversion is really strong here.
03/11/2009 11:40:34 AM
Great capture. I love the black & white. I love the softness of the clouds and smoothness of the shoreline against the sharp focus of the buildings. Time of day has also given some really interesting highlights and shadows. Thanks!
03/11/2009 10:27:24 AM
