The Image: I had the idea, but the execution didn't work. YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE IT - but I had a small window of opportunity to shoot this and did a quick 12-15 exposures and downloaded them to check them. went back to the camera, shot the images I was hoping for - about 60 in all (I really wanted the steam to come off the pasta. I ate the pasta for lunch. I THEN REALISED ID DIN'T HAVE MY CF CARD IN THE CAMERA! Ran out of time to cook up another batch and so had to submit something from what I had. So, this is way below the vision I had for this image. It's a little on the blurry side. Once again, I lament the fact that this is not advanced editing...

Why enter? Just to stay in the loop for my team.

The edit: B and W with a tint, levels, curves, noise reduction, sharpen.

Prediction: The way I am going - 5.2???

The pastor was getting hot because his camera had no card?

There's a subtle code here somewhere that's telling me who this photographer is...hmmm....not quite got it ;-)

(I'm assuming this is you, Enzo ;-))

The tagliatelle looks scrumptious I possibly wouldn't have shot this in black and white or quite so contrasty. You can hardly make out the pan from the background.

Not up to your normal standards if memory serves me. Sharpening artifacts are too obvious.

The texture of the food I find excellent, the blinding handle of the fork I find overbearing. I would have tried a tighter crop to get rid of this.

i like the processing of this -- very edgy feeling

interesting composition, a little over processed and that can be seen in the unnatural shininess of the pasta. i like the fact that there is a little motion blur to the pasta, which in my opinion gives this picture some life. i like the sepia conversion.

hotpasta? Must be with a food photo! A bit dark, not one of your better food photos, IMO. I'm a big fan of your food photography, you always make it look so good. This doesn't look that appetizing, but don't get me wrong, it's still a good photo, just not among your best.

Very, Very Clever. Finally something that stands out both as a good idea, good execution and actually being a Self Portrait as well.
Composition is good, lighting is good but could have been clightly better. I like the highlights on the bowl, but maybe being able to see a little more of the bowl shape could have helped.

One of the best in this challenge
