actually composition is the primary virtue of this photo, imho. Lots of action on the edges gives this shot great energy and a movement outwards.

Nicely done! Very ballet-like...the simplistic lines and soft lights, it's like Swan Lake in the garden. The petals along the bottom create a nice DOF for the rest of the image. The infrared worked amamzingly well for this.

defying the rules is what rules are made for. this accomplishes that. the confusion is what is of interest. the high key tonality is fulfilling and quite beautiful and holds it to task. nice! as limited as it is, the foreground focus is one rule that applies here and forgives the lack of focus everywhere else. the more i look the better it gets. this is the final test when stretching your boundaries. interesting image.
