Two Male Common Mergansers after they had finished the Merganser two-step and had gotten airbourne. These are diving ducks and they need to run along the surface of the water to get up enough speed to fly. Unlike non-diving ducks, I think they are called Dabblers, which can just spring up off the water and fly straight away.

Great companion piect to the two-step one. The wing positions almost appear to mesh them together.

That's the same pair of ducks I saw on the water. Excellent capture, Scott! You really nailed this one. I like the opposing wing movement and the subtle contrast of the red beaks/feet against the muted tones. Great movement in this and wonderful contrast of darks and lights. Very nicely done!

I see you followed the action! From water...to air. Nice timing.

A bit o' color noise, but a nice blur of motion! I especially like the catch of wing up/wing down between the two.
