The sliced vegetables were placed on a glassplate, with a large soft light lamp underneath. My girlfriend leaned over the vegetables, face downwards, the image is since rotated 90 degrees.

Clever idea.

Very neat shot, the colours and focus are right on the money. Pity about the edge of the glass/plastic sheet showing up would have been a 10 in my book... Slipped to 9 :-).

I like everything about it -- except that you cut her chin off. (Also, the white line behind the cucumber slices is distracting, I think.) Still, a memorable shot with nicely controlled lighting. Congratulations.

The composition doesn't work for me. The left side is so much brighter and more contrasty than the right, and the woman's face is oddly cropped at the chin. It's almost like looking at two different pictures, and one has slipped out of the mat.

how interesting! would be better without the front cucumbers hanging on the visible string - but you probably already "heard" it a number of times... 7.

Great natural expression on the woman's face, and definitely creative placement of the veggies!

wonder how it would have looked if you used a black thread instead of white for the cucumbers.

Very inventive shot - I love the colors and the light on the face. The strangeness of the composition is quite fun, though I'd like to see the face bumped up in the shot just slightly so we could see her chin. Good work.

A very ORIGINAL and UNIQUE take on the challenge. The soft lighting on the model is perfect. Your image stands out even more since there were quite a few "substandard" entries this time. My prediction: top 10 for sure maybe a ribbon.

wonder if closing the gap a bit would've helped. Still a great shot.
