I think this image is a pretty neat self portrait without people.
The style will be recognizable as well as the people less character.

My wife is actually behind the coat holding the entire apparatus from blowing across the field. We near froze to death -20 with the windchill.

I had this thing sitting in my dining room for awhile . Every time I walked by it it gave me a start.

Hope this does well

Cole

Post

Thanks for the ribbon DPC.

Another one of these great moments that arrive in my minds eye and then is almost next to impossible to execute. The winds were gusting about 90 km, the Sunday we decided to shoot. My poor Sandy was holding the gizmo, so that it would not blow away. We had about 4 seconds when I put the umbrella up and then it was destroyed. I guess I was lucky to get this shot :)

Thanks again for the votes and comments

Cole

So you hid the person in the coat. :) Big congrats on your continuing scarecrow series! It would have been a cool shot with the destroyed umbrella too!

No wonder it startled you in the dining room. Very effective scarecrow. I particularly like the dead cornfield in this scene -- and of course the wonderful tree I remember from other images. Congratulations on your ribbon.

This had Coley written all over it! Knew it had to be yours and was/is just as good as I expect from you. Congratulations on yet another excellent image!

I think this is a brilliant photo, both technically and artistically. The land seems ravaged and how your scare crow seems to be protecting nature in general. I think there is just enough land and sky to complete the image, good rule of 3rds.

Terrific concept that has Coley written all over it. I love that kind of quirkiness.

I know that tree by heart, it seems this time you walked around to the other side of it. Probably because the other view is starting to have suburbia built up in the background. :)
I bet you could have just shot the tree and a few ould have guessed who you are.

This looks like Coley's tree! And his umbrella. Good job.

I think black angel wings added somewhere in the photo would work very well :) Great shot, and composition. The light is a little harsh though.
