I am sure I'll be one of about 25 people offering an image like this, so I had better hope that this example can live with the competition.

I'm sure it will be the more innovative subjects that will do well but for a flower against a white background, I quite like it.

Edit - pretty minimal:

A crop
A bit of Smart Sharpen
Desaturation of Cyan and Blue (to counter a bit of colour fringing)
Slight increase in saturation of yellow and green

Job done.

Hello from the Critique Club:

Well, you certainly were dead on when you predicted the plethora of other flower entries. Many daisies, to boot.
Your entry unequivocally meets the challenge, which is always a necessary start for a decent score. I really enjoy your use of DoF. The choice to have the focal point on the florets was wise, and I especially like how nicely the stem fades into the background so gracefully. You also captured the flower from an angle other than dead on, which adds some interest as well, especially because the delicacy of the petals is accentuated by your specific angle.
You effectively made the background true white, which can be difficult in some circumstances. Your subject was also lit very well, providing soft shadows, but enough to show the texture of the petals and florets.
Really, the only suggestion I would personally make is that a little bit more negative space on the left might have benefited things slightly.
Very nice entry.

This is beautiful. The yellow pops and the stem is so soft and the lighting and exposure on the petals is perfect. Great dof as well. Just lovely.
