 I saw some of these guys from a distance on a big(ish) lake earlier this month and got blah pictures of them, so I was really psyched to find this pair on a littler lake yesterday, within zoom range.

This is actually a composite so I could get decent shots of Mr. and Mrs. in one image. Blew out his whites a bit but you can't have everything ;-)

Beautiful shot, Mary. The focus and colour are great. That is a huge variation between the male and the female, isn't it?
