A Granny Smith apple with its insides scooped out with a melon ball corer and placed against a Vivitar 285 Flash unit to illuminate it from the back. Apple is placed on a shiny tile and water droplets are reflected. Backlighted water droplets on the apple almost show up with a film negative sort of effect

Funky Apple glow, I like it. I also like the reflection and the water drops. Nice capture

Cool Idea, but just a tad too much inner glow =) Nice work though!

The image itself isn't too bad, but at 500x500 the best I can give you is a 3. Probably would have been a 5 at full size.

great texture. Shame about that highlight bit, could you have masked it anyhow to retain detail?

I know how hard it is to get these sorts of images to look good. If you have hollowed the apple out (which I think you have), I think some internal masking of the bright portion of the apple would've helped you to control the exposure a little more and get a more dramatic result.
