 Had to gallery-sit this afternoon so I passed the time by taking pictures of textures and things with my POS P&S :-)

I made the frame/overlay from a bunch of images of the windows frames and dirty panes combined, then cross-processed in Color Efex Pro with a slight acid taste. Feel free to try it out if you like :-)

I used the frame thingy for both the base image and the overlay so the window frame bits would stand out as frames rather than just ghostly overlays. I placed the three images of the lock on top of the base image and fit to taste. Then put overlay frame on top and set to overlay mode. Next I did "ctrl + alt + shift + e", a great shortcut that combines all of the visible layers into a new single layer. To this I applied Color Efex Pro tonal contrast filter then bleach bypass filter. After resizing I applied unsharp mask twice, once with a large radius (60ish) and low amount (20%) to increase contrast, and once with small radius (2) and higher amount (80%) to sharpen small details.
