This is really nice in B&W. The lack of color cuts it down to the basic light, shade, and lines in a way that would be confused by color.

I don't think I've ever seen a bird in (stopped) motion like this and it's really cool. Your composition is excellent here; the subject is perfect for the symmetry you've chosen.

What a great, almost abstract, photo. From the position of the wings it looks like the bird has just launched itself into flight - a very impressive and difficult shot to get.
