Thanks to everyone who commented and voted, and YES I am kicking myself in my own AZZ for the cropping mistake. That's what happens when you send in your entry at the last minute. Dont think it would have done much better with the cropping but I think I may have gained a few placings. This is my 8 month old Palomino foal playing in her first snow.

I keep looking at the top part of your photo instead of the playfull horse you have shot so beautifully. You would've gotten a much better presentation of this photo had cut away that dark branch and the sky at the top.

You should have cropped the top of the image. It is distracting. Otherwise, great image =) Pretty horse.

the top of the frame reminds me of the good ol' film days where the one hour shop would screw up prints and mix frames up. i guess what I'm trying to say is that it's slightly distracting.

How very fun! I think I would have cropped that line of unrelated scene from the top and perhaps a bit from the right so the adorable one is not so centered.

Nice shot - although the top of the hill should have been cropped a little lower.. the trees/sky on the other side made is distracting from the horse... :( still a pretty shot though.

to me, the small strip of sky and trees over the hill (at the top of the frame) looks out of place. I think that it might look better had it been cropped out.

Great energy you've captured.

Nice capture, but I really wish the area at the top of the image where you can see over the hill was cropped off. It is very distracting to me.

This captures movement really well and the image has a really soft feeling. I see the dilemma you have about the top of the hill behind, crop it and people will think it is sky - cropping it with my hand now though, I think the image would have been cleaner with it cropped out.

Looks like a bad editing mistake in the background, probably not but it is distracting , because you did a wonderful job in catching the action.6 wish you had tried a different crop.
