Taken at Corbett's Falls just outside of Rochester. I was just there to shoot the falls, but the fisherman insisted on standing in my pictures!

I agree with Janine on the focal point of this image, it could use more height to balance out the falls. Your FS version worked much better. The fisherman does add some interest to the photo.

The fisherman gives the image scale and a personal touch. Very nice!

Very nice capture and pp. I like the deep contrast and excellent detail. Although the vignette is an excellent choice here I thinks it's a little too strong for me.

Very nice B&W shot! I agree that the fisherman adds an element of interest. Bassbone said he thought the fisherman looked too short/squished, but looking closely, I think he's standing calf deep in the stream. I don't often use vignettes, but can see that it is perfect for this photo. I like your choice of frames as well.

I am glad he stood there, great shot and very pretty scene, he just adds something extra to it. Like it in black and white as well.

would really like to know your pp of this shot, how you got the rich dark tones and the bright whites...I too like the length and breadth of this shot..wonder if you could have gotten "up" (higher) any more...it does seem flatten a bit...but I like the "full view" that I get from your shot. What a beautiful spot...

Stunning. A calm pond, flowing falls and chaotic river bank. And the fisherman to provide a focus point for everything. Lovely.

I find it interesting your comment. I seem to try and eliminate people from my landscapes, and I always find it interesting how when viewing others work - I love the presence of the human element.

On your photo - I really like the choice of subtle vignette here to drive our vision to the falls. The elongated crop works well to emphasize the breadth of the falls. And the choice of the b/w allows us to visualize the textures of the water more than we could in color. I do wonder about one thing - the image almost seems slightly squished in the vertical direction - the fisherman seems 'too short' - not sure what happened there....

Lovely shot Neil and the person gives the necessary perspective.
