 A Slate Junco, eyeing a piece of a suet cake some other bird left behind. These little guys are only here in the winter months.

PP - converted from RAW, straightened, cropped, increased contrast, dodged eye, dodged/burnt beak detail, reduced noise, added border, resized, sharpened.

A really pleasing capture. The bird stands out nicely against the background, which with its soft pastel shades acts as a good foil. The focus on the bird, eye particularly could be a tad sharper, but I am being pernickity here. Do you know what bird it is? I am always intrigued to see the difference between birds from different continents.

What a great study of this tiny bird! It really tells a story and is beautifully photographed and processed. I don't think we have them here in Florida so it's a treat to see the little guy!

This is lovely. I like that you were able to hold the detail, even in the dark area around the birds eye. The nice soft colors in the background/bokeh is good in this shot too.
