I tried to come close to the tones used in Ansel's shot titled moon rise, I think it is fairly close even though the scene is not close to being the same. Not sure how it will score but I really like this one and feel it is one of my better attempts at B&W. Looking forward to everyone else's entrys.

I have always admired Ansel Adam's work, I think he was awesome especially for his time period. I would love to see what he could do with todays equipment and processing technology.

Ohhh very nice. Winner so far. The black to white is very nice. Contrast is very consistent over the whole image (not over done).

Nice. Like the tonal range in the rocks, although a bit more shadow detail in the section on the left would be good. Placement of moon sliver is good.

Simple and the aspect of the moon finishes it off quite nice. Good luck!7

This is a sweet image, but IMO it hasn't been processed to its full potential. There's a little more luminosity to be had, a little better expression of the deep shadows, if you reach for it. Very nicely seen, however :-)

Great capture of the moon, but I'm not crazy about the rocks - they look dull and flat.

This has the best AA feel to me of the bunch. Maybe it's the sliver of moon which reminds me of his Half Dome shot. Dunno, it stands on its own merits. Nicely done--the only thing I could wish for is a wisp of cloud. Or maybe not...

Very striking image - well done. I feel I could have lived without the border. Though it's not awful, it seems to limit the expanse of the photo. I like the high contrast, and great job on the sky and moon.
