I sometimes wish I could like photographs of waterfalls; it would give me another ten million images to enjoy. But I just can't. I can see that this is a beautifully made photograph, technically sound and all that, but I can't find a way so distinguish it from all the others. My failing, of course, not yours.

My first reaction to this shot was "Wow! Technical perfection! But otherwise forgettable..." Then I took a closer look, and it dawned on me that those crepuscular rays are there, and that it's a rather extraordinary sight.
The processing of this image is just fantastic. The richness in the dark areas, the luminosity-with-detail in the bright areas is just spot-on. It looks like it might be a DocAchoo shot, as far as subject and well-preserved detail goes. Which would mean a 5D, full-frame image. If this was shot on an APS-C camera, then it's even more extraordinary technically. Whatever, just a very finely-made image with that extra "Aha!" grace note that takes it beyond the ordinary.
In the context of this challenge, it won't have my vote as a winner, because I'm looking in a different direction here. But my goodness, I do admire it as a landscape shot! I wish it were mine.

The forms here are sensuous. This would have been a great candidate for manipulation into a more abstract image.
