Rachel modeling in her favorite domain, the gym. I've certainly never tried shooting in a gym before. Thought the equipment would make an interesting background, but couldn't find a good composition, hence the plain wall background. Shot with a pair of hotlights, front one softened with an umbrella. Postprocessing: exposure and color adjustment in Photoshop's RAW converter, then the background desaturated 50% and darkened a bit. Finally spot-edited out her distracting wrist-watch (can't believe I didn't spot that in the shoot!).

A new way to lift weights? Interesting pic.

some of the places where her skintone meets the background aren't very sharp, look especially at the outer edge of her left arm, lighting seems confusing with part of her face shaded

Don't drop it! Good shot although it would have been a little bit stronger if she had been less tilted.

Nice idea, but she looks too posed. But I think if you had her actually lift that weight 10 times or so, and snap the shot on the first lift she strained on you would have a better expression. Other than that, the earrings just do not seem to go with the whole gym subject.

very nice colors. the tie between her hair the earings and the weight bar make the shot. i think a hair light in the upper right corner would haave helped, as it is her head looks very slightly asymetric.

The photo itself is good, but I think this is one instance where a neutral background takes away from the subject a bit. If the woman stood out more from the background, or there was some dramatic lighting or colour, I think it would help convey more of a sense of strength. Just my opinion :)

Excellent lighting. The sidelight really adds definition to her muscles. The earrings look a little out of place, but that's a minor criticism.

For some reason it doesn't look like it was shot at a gym--take that as a compliment if it was. It has an interesting symmetry, but somehow I just don't see it as flattering to the sport or the girl, or to the tone of her body. Maybe it's just too straight up and down. Don't get me wrong, it's alright--just not a strong composition IMHO (pun intended!).

Can't explain, but this image has high viewer interest. You model's pose is outstanding. A completely bland background is perfect for this capture.

Radient! - Good lighting, I like the balance between the model and the weight - good idea Ms. Lemming!
