like the rocks, good detail and exposure...you might have thought about losing the little bit of plant in the lower right corner, just seems lost and out of place. The sky color is GREAT but the focus on the supject tree appears a bit soft.

You focus is a little soft and the sky is grainy/noisy. Neat Image would have worked well for the grain problem.

Seems like some overexposure is washing out detail and sharpness.

Really interesting subject and good composition and colors. The focus seems soft all over the whole picture, don't know if this was something you were trying for or not.

Nice try. This seems to lack focus.

Reread rules, rescored shot, revised comment. Nice shot well framed with perhaps a bit too saturated a sky for my taste. I find the grass in the lower right distracting, but if you cropped it above that the rocks wouldn't work nearly as well.

the sky looks unnatural
and it's very low res

Lots of compression artifacts distract me from fully enjoying this photo. It does look like you tried to do a soft focus and it would look very good without the excessive compression. The sky is a very deep blue and I like that.

Concept, framing, and use of the rule of thirds are all good in this image. The image quality is not good and that is a major distraction. The tree, your main subject, is not well focused and there appears to be noise in the sky background. I don't know if it is true for this case but a scene like this sometimes is best taken near sunrise of sunset to give it more vibrant lighting and dramatic shadows. The idea of this image is definitely good.

maybe a little too much saturation on the sky? Otherwise, lovely.

Out of focus. i also think that the lighting is just a litle too much. I don't know if thats the natural light or if you did it in editing.

its a nice shot, its just too bad the picture isnt sharper.
05/11/2004 03:36:25 PM
This shot looks a little bit overprocessed.

Could have been better with a better compression. A bit pixelated and blurry at the edges. Good composition and color.

Maybe it's me -- but this seems slightly out of focus

A little too hazy and the sky is very noisy. That's a very vibrant blue!

Too saturated.

The softness of this, which I'm assuming is intentional, detracts from what is otherwise a pretty and interesting scene, in my opinion. I like the balance in this picture, but crisper edges against the sky would really have improved the overall appeal of the shot.

Not quite sharp on my screen, but glorious composition. Good seeing.

if this were sharper this would have been one of my favorites

The sky seems to be a bit overdone to my liking.

I think it would have worked better with the tree in sharp focus and a gradient in the blue of the sky.

Excellent scene and crop. I say crop because the tree looks like it's showing the end of the resolution for your camera--so I am guessing you had to crop at the full resolution to get this wonderful composition here. The loss of clarity is one small price to pay, but you did this perfectly otherwise, it's a wonderful shot.

Thisi s an awesome shot but looks either over-processed or just not quite in focus. There's a bit too much blur, combined with a bit of noise in the blue. Great colours and subject though. - 7
