Ice skating in Holland. Getting life back in the frozen hands and feet with a steaming cup of gluhwine or hot drinking chocolate.

I find this very moving. (First year I haven't made mulled wine/gluhwein).

What I like most about it is that there appears to be nothing at all happening!
It has that improbable Pieter Bruegel look to it. Like this perhaps.

Definitely a wonderful glimpse at life. Very enjoyable and looks to have been a great day!

I can't stop looking at this community gathering for several minutes now. There are so many details (from the pair of boots at the lower left, to the man with the dog at the center, the trails in the snow and the people wandering at the edge of the group, and so much more). I also like how the image is composed with multiple layers of colors, (yellow hay, white snow, brown trees and gray skies) with all the people in between. Lovely!

I had to look it up:

Ingredients:
a bottle of red wine
handful of whole cloves
handful of whole star anise
sections of one orange
about 2tsp ground cinnamon
about 1 tsp nutmeg

Not something that I think would appeal to me, but, it's a very nice photo. It has that 'HDR' look or whatever that is but not quite. So, to me, it still holds a photographic look instead of looking like a cartoon. Very nice and I hope it does well: 9

I would have cropped a bit closer on the table with the hot chocolate with the ice in the background. I like the processing.

It's a nice scene, but a bit over-processed, and I think a closer up shot would have been better.

Had to Google "gluwine" ;-) Looks like a chaotically happy scene.
