 Taken from the top of Florence Basilica. I didn't realise quite what I had captured until I came to looking through these photos a month or so after I shot them - hence why I've not entered this particular shot for anything this year.

PP Tonemapped in Photomatix, levels, curves, some dodging and burning, removed dust spots, crop, resize, sharpen, border, SFW.

Had to do a hasty re-edit in the final hour as I realised i'd probably broken the rules - not sure it looks quite as good but there you go.

im a big fan of heavy PP but for some reason the sky and clouds looks off to me, otherwise an excellent view!

feels like the bottom half feels a little oversharpened or something, can't quite put my finger on it, but overall very nice.

the light on the city below and the hills beyond is really nice - but there are the typical pixelation issues in the details that are often seen with tonemapping

A little too much burning done on the cloud's highlights. I like all the detail captured, but not sure about the PP work. Anyway I still like it, 7

Although I am an American, I have lived in Firenze off and on for 40 years. This is a splendid view of one of my favorite cities, one I can call home. Ciao, bello. or is it bella?
