 Taken only 3 days before the end of the year. I decided to enter something else in the December Free Study (the same tiger but taken 2 days earlier) and I did kept this one for the Best of 2008.

Not much editing:

Crop, levels, colors, smart sharpening, cloned out a few small white spots aroud the month, saved for web, reopen in CS3, smart sharpening again, added a border, saved for web again

Its a shame the eyes aren't in focus, because it would have been a much more engaging image! Kudos to you though for getting this full frontal image filler!

Oooooohhhhh! My kinda photo! I truly hope your zoo photo (well, I'm thinking this is a zoo photo) is doing better than mine. This is terrific, and so is mine but they vote wayyyyyy too brutally in Best Of's challenges :) Good luck!

Great capture. I like the intensity of the eyes. It does however look like you focused on the nose though. Fortunately there is enough DOF to capture the eyes well. Exposure is well handled and the white in the fur isn't "too" white while the blacks have a nice range of greys down to pure black.

that is a serious face - i think i will comment quickly before it bites....

really nice full face effort - the details in the nose are outstanding but i almost wish for a bit more DOF to really allow the eyes to be completely in focus
