This shot had been taken in the last days before the challenge ended, it has been a long snowy and clouded week, with little sunshine. After the snow had stop the sun came out so I went out to see what I could get a picture of. This is a picture of the snow in my flower garden, I liked the way the snow had drifted and the shadows.

This is the picture I think I tried to take. Rich in itself, and nice rich comments too.

beautiful! The competition was tough, but for the sheer complexity of shadows on curves, I will give this a Posthumous Yellow.

Successful abstraction with only a vague sense of size, dimensions and proportions. An image not merely "of" but "about" shadows (and light, naturally). While the tonal distribution might be tweaked some so as to give the brightest highlights and the deepest shadows just a little bit more definition, the image still provides one with a delightful study of textures, shapes and forms. The concert-piano-shaped shadow gives a gentle nudge to my memory, and some pleasant but long-forgotten memories of mine begin to resurface. I like it when an image does that!

Very nice image, love the light and shadows. Initially I thought it was a barren landscape shot from a distance until I read the title. 7

LOL, looks like a miniature train set in a blizzard! Magnificent textures and dramatic shadows. I wish you'd have cropped a little bit more off the top; the uppermost horizontal shadow throws off the balance.
