This brings back memories of touring a house that was being built for N.C. Wyeth, the famous painter and brother of Andrew. The view from the windows was spectacular, very much like the one in your photo and the house was in the early stages of being constructed.
This is one of your best visionary images, it's very well done and has a wonderful illustrative quality about it.

I echo your sentiments. Not sure if yours should have won, but the top two images brought the eternal fact to light again: most humans are instinctively animals after all (unfortunately). The third prize winner was well deserved IMO.

P.S. I didnt enter or vote/comment in this challenge.

You could have wished for a nice view from a warm comfy hotel room. This"room" looks drafty, cold and in a state of decay.

Great composition. Looks like a HDR or heavy S/H image. The wall is surprisingly soft, and I'm guessing that is from the HDR or S/H processing. Either way, without the peeping, this is a wonderful photograph with a strong composition IMO.
