That overly bright lightsource on the right is very distracting. The intensity of it seems to almost wash out the crispness of the runes on the stones. There also seems to be some sort of reflection on the bottom part of the background image with the swords and cross. Continue experimenting with your lighting technique to refine it.

Ruins, or runes? Seems like a bit of overexposure on the right washes out some detail. Nice composition.

You know, I've been looking at this picture several times for extended periods over the last few days, and I still can't figure it out. It looks like a bed with large pills on it and a bag with a bright light coming out the opening. Whether this is new to you or not, it is definitely new to me. I'm just not sure (considering I don't know what it is) whether I like it or not. Add points for originality. The most unusual shot I've seen in a long time. Looks like the cover to a fantansy book. I guess I'll give it an 8.

I think you meant runes not ruins. Anywho, interesting subject but it has some issues with focus, noise and/or compression.

if this is a studio photgraph it does not meet the challange.. unless of course it's the first time you have taken pictures in this studio

A little soft on the focus. The bright light on the right and the fancy frame are distracting.

Runes? Ruins? The image is a little too grainy, and the light in the bag is too hot. I like the idea though- certainly the first time I've seen a photo of runes!

Great crisp whites, strong blacks - and with a great tonal range in between. What else can you expect from a black and white image? This studio shot shows great creativity and imagination. Expect to finish high!

There are a few technical problems with this shot. It is overexposed so there is very little detail in the rune stones. At first I thought they were pills, in fact. There are far too many hot spots. The highlights in the fabric are over exposed and I can't even figure out what that bright spot withteh cord dangling down in the corner is. The border just adds to the mess and distraction. Sorry, I gave this a four.

Something else...What's the story? and the symbols in the background? And the letters (?) or pictograms on the pils (pils?). And this strange light...Some magical rite? Intriguing indeed.

I love the atmosphere you have generated with this excellent shot.
