Ascent of man...get it? Well good.
These are gerberas from over the last week and half: the top being most recent, today as a matter a fact, and the bottom from the end of the week before last, the middle from saturday. The middle ones would be OK with straws but shutter....so they bent over and provide another step in the after process. I could have done a fourth but really it would have been too much. I could also have done less but I like three for some reason. Anyway, the other version I shot had nine flowers...but it did not process out well in basic.

Shot with the camera on tripod and cable remote release. I am experimenting with some new light bulbs....the energy efficient ones that are some much less hot that the halogen I usually use. The seem slightly less bright but both the flowers and I are enjoying how much less heat they provide.

Post: Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Crop, 3x. Two more layers of levels: one to remove color cast and one to darken the background. Adjust sharpness. Resize. USM.

Could use a little more saturation to make your flowers pop out.

Meets challenge, but the lighting seems a little off. The way the stems look bothers me too, how the two live ones appear to be leaning on the dead ones. It seems a little distracting to me.

The droopy ones look awfully sad :-(

The green stalks are very well lit and tend to dominate the picture as the flower heads are quite dark. Nice composition.

The color on this is kind of shocking!
