Whew! This was a lot more work than I expected!
Submitted to another challenge so I could get a sample of a web page with an entry.
Brought up home page and saved as HTML.
Brought up in Word and edited the title, challenge and numbers to fit this challenge. The date is 12/6/08 at 10:55, an hour before voting rollover, but that's obscured by the line (easy part is over).
Tried many ways to add lightning flashes but failed so resorted to yellow lines for powers. Tried adding lines in Word, but could not do it. Tried all the packages in CS3 Master Collection but couldn't get any to draw lines, zig-zags, in anything other than PS. Finally got something acceptable. It's supposed to be solid yellow, but I thought the crosshatching that I ended up with sort of made it look like energy waves.
Took pictures of picture with lines and my hands in front of screen within PS. Bounced flash off ceiling to get best hand lighting. However I got cross-hatching and waves on screen for any f-stop, speed, lighting, distance, two different monitors. Sometimes it came out better, so I had to keep shooting to get something fair. It seemed like I got some better shots at f5 and 5.6, so I did lots there. You'll notice the one I selected still wasn't that great.
Took picture of picture with my hands and shrunk it, then replaced my old entry with it. Shrunk again and again and put in sub-sub-sub-picture. Took a bunch of different shots of the final one and still couldn't get it without screen artifacts.
Cropped
auto-levels
select yellow and increase saturation
select yellow between fingers and reduced saturation all the way
lighten slightly
USM slightly until the crosshatching was almost annoying (for me).
resize and save for web
Of course I'm going for the inside DPC joke, but I'm just hoping for high 5 with this. Also, I'm going to try by Tuesday to have 4 entries in at once for the first time ever. |

| That's amazing! Not only can you control the votes, but you can take a picture of yourself controlling the votes on an entry that hadn't even been entered yet! High marks for extra funny factor. :) |
