 I rode the bicycle to pottery class one day, and on the way home I saw this mantis preying on a grasshopper that was also on the road. I doubt that she would have had much success, being so out in the open ... but then, I was too much of a disturbance.

Pretty basic editing. Cropped, levels, sharpened.

Such an otherworldly creature, the mantis, it looks like you indeed interrupted him(her?). Nice placement of focus.

He looks rather aristocratic, in a bug-gy sort of way. Nice detail and DOF. I especially like the pattern made by his shadow.

Mantis's (or would the plural be "Manti"?) are one of the coolest looking bugs. I love these things.
