 Made from 5 different images of tree branches I took last week with a 300mm lens I was renting at the time.

The five images were overlayed in whole or in part, in either soft light or hard light blending modes, at various levels of opacity, and there was a liberal use of masking.

Some of the images were deliberately manually defocused; the base image was one of these defocused images.

This is my entry for the Posthumous Masters Challenge.

A great blend of colors and layers. For a photo where so much is out of focus and the entire shot is made of the same subject, there is a lot to explore.

Amazing depth. The color is marvelous as well. I have yet to really figure out masking, but you've apparently done it very well here - I can't tell where layers start or end.

Wonderfully wintry. I expect to see an Ice Queen appear at any moment, following that bare branch into the foreground.

Ha, the branch is actually sticking out of my monitor - 3D without having to wear those clumsy glasses. I don't think I've seen quite that effect before. Well done!

I love how this one little branch is reaching out from the beautiful sea of blur. I like how the overlays give this a ripples-in-time look. Very pretty!
