I don't expect this to do well, per usual.... I just got a new monitor 24" baby! cause they are cheap now. But i'm not sure what my coloring is doing on this and I don't have time to go around and check other monitors. I'm hoping the detail comes through and it is not too dark...

The setup of the lighting is as follows. 5' softbox in back of me yet again, Flash at -1/3 power on camera hotshoe. Took several that I liked and alot that I didn't like, This was one of my favorites because of the moodiness. Still may get penalized for this one as being a silohette even though its not. Anyways. Hope you enjoy!

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: It's impossible for me to tell where the image focus lies, and the colors are all washed out.

Lighting: While you did indeed achieve backlighting here, it is far too harsh. The face is covered in a lens flare, and the brightness just serves to push my eyes out of the frame.

Composition/Content: I do like the mood that you captured, but the flaws are for too many for mood alone to overcome.

My Opinion: I do hate that the voters handed you a new personal worst and it makes me unhappy to add that this one was probably scored about where it should have. This entry is well below your potential and capabilities that you have proven with your previous entries.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

it blackens out to much of his face.

Nice, introspective expression and you have the back lighting technique right on. I would like to see a little more light on the left side of the model's face, though. 5

Seems a little too dark in the front...I know its backlighting, but seems you could have somehow shone light on his face.

Challenge was to keep the subject from becoming a silhouette. It didn't but not by much. Quality of the details is severely lacking as well as any interesting points.
