 I used an old black shirt as a backdrop, submerged in a small aquarium (which leaks, as I just learned!). I mounted a small flashlight at the top of the aquarium to point downward onto the shell.

I can almost see the debris in the light ray moving in the water. Very well done. The light has the good affect of taking your eyes down to the shell. Won't score as high as it should I fear.

rays of light make this a ten shot. perfect exposre on the front of the conch, just a hair shy of blow out, you can still see all the swirls. big fat ten for you.

The light shines a nice beam into the water. Unfortunately as well as highlighting the shell it also highlights the impurities in the water (don't know what you could have done about it though).

If only water was really clear, photography would be much easier!
